Is anybody familiar with The Voynich Manuscript and do you believe it is complex or self explanatory in illustrations?

I think we are all familiar because recently somebody had a thread claiming he had cracked the code, and it was just Welsh. Absolute nonsense with no argument to support it. Or was it another forum?

It was discussed on the com site in 2013 and again on the scienceforums.net site last September until Ophiolite proposed it be locked in November for "claptrap" and "going in circles" -and it was so locked.

I'd Like to see Lynx Fox input on this because I know they have a fantastic knowledge of evolutionary science.

Look at this image. See the red arrow?

Some believe it to be a ribbon connected to a star.
I think it looks more like an umbilical cord or Spinal cord. Which makes more sense seeing as they are in birthing tubs.
The goat at the centre - We see a presence of water near his feet. Goat/Capricorn. Goat-fish hybrid?

I'm seeing what looks like the PI symbol in those words which as we know PI is about circumference/circle/cycles.

Literally a reference to PI in most of it.

Did you see the writing under the goat?

backwards it supposedly spells LEONARDO.

3.14 = PIE

Strange coincidence?

Nope - look long enough and you will see something of significance in anything. (And 3.14 ~ PI)

Stonehenge spells out π
in a repetitive circle. That's what PI is....a circumference or circle to represent cycles.

Why is it nonsense?

Are some scientists playing dumb when it comes to interpreting Voynich manuscript?

Let's be honest, if Voynich proves that somebody figured out the world and the 'sum of everything' in the 1500's then what was the point of so much science now?

It would have to be a massive global conspiracy to hide the meaning and continue to hide the meaning of the manuscript, if your assertion were true. MGC do not exist

As I told you on the other forum, I can't be bothered with crazy...

You can't answer because you don't know.

I'll just leave this here for others to decide.

I can answer, because the proposed solution you offered is not at all viable. Its not happening and saying it could doesnt make it so

Can anyone tell me if the dating of the Voynich Manuscript is from when it was written or when the Vellum was made?

Can anyone tell me what Leonardo Da Vinci used to write on?

I'm having trouble finding this information.

Update

I don't know if it is a coincidence but I see the what looks like an upright number 8 in the Voynich text.
Possibly an upright infinity sign?

Which, might be a reference to old Greek infinity symbol known as 'Lemniscate'- to decorate with ribbons.

The symbol I refer to as the PI symbol in the text looks slightly different up top. It looks like a horizontal infinity symbol across the top.

I was originally put off of looking at it as a PI symbol until I looked at the down parts.
Some of them seem to have the one leg curling up at the end.
As for dating. Where can we get 'all of the official results'?

Anybody familiar with Tarot cards?

Look at The Magician. Then look at the painting of The Last Supper.

Coincidence?

Is it likely that people on a science forum would be familiar with such crap? What is your point?

This is a public forum. I can write what I like. The person who 'Actually has control on here' has not removed it.

Of course you can. But if there is a point to what you write, people are more likely to respond. I was asking what the point was. I was paying you the compliment of thinking that there might just possibly be a point. Please do not disappoint. :P

I seem to remember in this or another thread that I don't watch videos
forums are for stating your case in words, not inviting people to link to a video without a further word of explanation

if you don't want to make the effort to state your case, why do you expect us to make the effort to find out fir ourselves ?

The dating is on the vellum itself. So they know the vellum is that old and it's highly improbable that that much vellum went 400 years without being wrote on that Voynich could write it and fake it. So the age of the manuscript is fairly accurate. It's entirely plausible that the whole manuscript was an elaborate joke at the time.
