What is the name of the process that describes this psychological phenomenon that happens to everyone?

"Whenever the human brain recalls an autobiographical memory, it occasionally re-records it with a minute error, causing error in human memory, magnified through time, giving an extremely distorted childhood reality which is relatively common among the elderly."

I've learnt this through some education youtube video, but I don't know what's it called.

It's basically recoding or reconstruction of already malleable memories. Errors are introduced when certain neural connections are magnified or pruned during encoding, storage, and recall. It's the same phenomenon that allows false memories to get created.

In more extreme casesand when those memories are shared outwardly it's usually referred to as confabulation, but I don't think it has a specific name since there are so many different things causing it and so many different theories explaining reasons why it occurs.
