There are some facial features common among austics.

Are there any software out there that takes a picture of a face, then determines how much similar it is to an autistic one, based on these facial characteristics?
Unfortuately I'm unable to google for any.

I'm not sure, but imagine you'd need a video and not just a still image (and even then to gauge an individuals reaction to a consistent stimulus).

The short article (which is hatefully unreferred like much of the damn news), seems different than the typical emotional reactions well studied going back decades. I seems to be suggesting fixed dimensions could become a diagnostic tool.
