Will it eventually come to this? Archaeologists on other worlds? Paleobiologists? Not sure how many lost civilizations or what evidence of life on other worlds we'll find in future space travel. What a moment it would be if we do discover something to that affect.

Of the scientists that have orbited the globe, what scientific discipline has been the most represented? Appears to me at least that some sciences are going to have to wait a while before they have a turn, if ever.

I doubt very much that (1) we'll leave the solar system any time soon; and (2) within the solar system (apart from Earth) there's been any civilisations capable of building anything that archaeologists would recognise as artificial remains

I'd be delighted if I was proven wrong, but on the other I'd be amazed if the above statement was far off the mark

I agree with you there. It would be nice but not going to happen soon.

Could use a junk collector up there right now. Is there an estimated value for the scrap in space?

Will we need Helen Ripley digging up the turf of some asteroid drifting through space? I see robots performing many tasks in space while the scientists stay clean back on Earth or in some comfortable space pad.

We could use astronauts who don't spill a bag of tools during EVA. I know the majority should be scientists, but for some missions the sort who build hi-rises would be better qualified.
