You may or may not recognize me from the other forum. I don't post much, but I do read many threads.
Like many folks, I'm upset over the situation between Harold and the duck. But that's not causing me to leave the .com forum. I only know that many others left and are here instead. I don't want to see them all go, so I decided to join, and I'm here and there.
I read the main thread on this sub forum. If I understand correctly, it said that the current owners of the .com forum are only interested in making the forum most popular and getting lots of people there, not having best scientific discussion. That is why there are so many cranks and crackpots there. This website doesn't pertain such an interest in popularity, and thus the crank and crackpot issue isn't so bad.

Welcome, anticorncob. Glad to have you.

Note that we created this forum a few years ago when a new team bought the other site and frankly ruined it. I'd never seen a turd form so fast in all my life. :)

Am pretty sure ownership has changed hands two or three times since then, but it doesn't matter over here. We're still the same team we've always been.

Lots of really good folks here at this site. People passionate about science, education, culture, and having interesting discussions with interesting intelligent people.

Look forward to your contributions!
