A few weeks ago we attended a music event at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, Colorado. The youtube video is of Colin Hay at that event, where we sat on our tarps and enjoyed the music, the sun, the beer and the surrounding scenery. Today the venue is under water as the linked blog shows. The St. Vrain river normally flows gently alongside the site and now it flows completely over it. This has been a 500 year rain event according to our local news people. It's a disaster. I had to get my grandson from school yesterday and a major road, Martin Luther King Blvd. was a flowing river with water up to our axles. The trusty Subaru made it through though others didn't.

It's still raining today but not quite so heavily. When the rain stops and the cost is counted - well it is a disaster for the state.
